Here is what you need to know about buying Jewelry on Etsy or Poshmark!
What makes Etsy and Poshmark different is that they aren't singular retailers with a set of unified policies and practices. Shopping with Etsy or Poshmark is more like shopping on Amazon. Etsy and Poshmark are platforms where, for a modest fee, various vendors can sell their items. This makes buying a little tricky because policies and practices will vary by vendor. Of course Amazon DOES have very strict rules for any vendor to sell on their platform which is why Amazon is so successful.
Etsy and Poshmark are relative newcomers and there are differences that make an impact on both buyers and sellers. A bad experience using an Etsy or Poshmark vendor might cause you to never shop on their sites ever again. For this reason, Trish's Paparazzi chose to operate it's own singular site with a clear set of policies and practices that remain consistent for our customers.
To be sure, if you plan to make a purchase on Etsy or Poshmark, then do your due diligence. Be aware of the following:
- Make sure you are working with a trusted vendor. This takes time.
- Discuss policies and practices with each vendor you purchase from.
- Etsy's customer service is good but it is all online and they don't offer phone assistance which some people find inconvenient.
- If a seller fails to maintain their platform agreement, they can be removed from the site. This would make it difficult for customers to follow up with past, current, or future purchases.
